Back Up Your Database With 1 Click
We all have the best of intentions to do those boring things that we know are important but don`t immediately fill us with enthusiasm and making backups definately falls into this category. So it is so important to make these tasks as easy as possible and until recently making a backup of the database on my website involved logging into my hosting account, going to the correct domain, following the link to Databases and saving the file (sometimes called a schema) to my local machine.
If I want to save multiple domain databases this could quickly become tedious BUT that has been fixed by using a script called phpBackupPro. This free script (please consider donating to thank the author) is pretty easy to setup (provide some Mysql details in the config file) and even easier to use - you just have to include a section of code in your page and then point your browser at that page and it will not only copy the current MySql database straight to your hosting account but also email a copy to you for safe keeping.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezee as they say (well that`s what I say anyhow).
I am not affilliated in any way to the authors but I make a small donation everytime I install it on a website because it really is useful and saves me time - worth a couple of quid!
